Mike is the Chief Investment Officer of our wealth management services and he is the chairman of our Investment Committee, which manages our model portfolios, determining the asset allocation mix and selects the managers used to implement our various strategies. Before co-founding GBB in 1987, Mike began his career in 1979 as an independent financial planner. Mike is a member of the Sacramento Estate Planning Council, the Western Pension Benefits Conference, and the Northern California Financial Planning Association. He is also a registered principal and registered representative with Royal Alliance Associates. In 2013 & 2014 he was named to the Financial Times Top 400 as one of the top financial advisors in America. For the past 20 years he has served as a trustee of Mercy Foundation. Mike has also been a long time board member of the Crocker Art Museum and currently serves as the President of its Foundation. Mike received undergraduate degrees in chemistry, biology, and journalism from San Diego State University (SDSU) and completed coursework with an emphasis in finance at the SDSU Graduate School of Business.
The 2014 Financial Times Top 400 Financial Advisors is an independent listing produced by the Financial Times (March, 2014). The FT 400 is based on data gathered from largest US broker dealer firms, regulatory disclosures, and the FT’s research. As identified by the FT, the listing reflected each advisor’s performance in six primary areas, including assets under management, asset growth, compliance record, years of experience, industry certifications and online accessibility. Neither the broker dealers nor their advisors pay a fee to The Financial Times in exchange for inclusion in the FT 400.
